I see that one must be willing to take the initiative and do the work that others wouldn’t want to do and be willing to finish no matter how hard it gets .

This quote means that an effective leader must be willing to be the first one to take initiative but also allow others to have the spotlight shone on them so they go last. A leader takes action first but steps back to let others have their time to shine. It’s like starting a race first but finishing last.

This quote reminds me of first ones there last to leave. As a leader we have to be able to create the product but also be there to finish and end and clean up the product rather than just be apart of the product.

In order to be the best leader you can possibly be and make a difference in others lives you have to be willing to do what others will not. You need to have a heart that is so excited and ready to serve the earliest you can and the latest you can in order to get the best result. People will see the detication you have (first the leave and last one there) and be inspired by the joy you have to do a service for them.

I think this quote is talking about how leadership starts with you but it’s not about you! An effective leader should be willing to do things first and also to be there until the end.

interpreting this quote to me means that for somebody who is willing to have the confidence to start things, ideas, and is also willing to stay dedicated to what has been started is a leader. not believing that just because they started with the idea means they would get full credit, but rather much the people who went through with it and made sure they got the job done.

It reminded me of the bible verse Matthew 20:16 ” Those who are First shall be last , those who are last shall be first ”
The GO FIRST portion reminded me of start and spirit because During those season we focus on taking the initiative and creating the atmosphere of leading .
The GO Last reminded me of serve / shine because during those seasons we focus on making an atmosphere of serving others and putting others needs before ourselves .
Learning to Lead by learning to serve .
These two connect because we go first and lead to create an atmosphere to serve rather than be served .

I believe this quote really embodies the first one to get there and last one to leave thing we try to achieve with all of our events. One must be willing to put in the work before to create the event and be able to stay and help out cleaning that event up to be an effective leader.

This quote is like our START, SPIRIT, SERVE, and SHINE. It’s stating, that you’re willing to go ALL IN! Not afraid to be a GOOD STUPID LEADER and lead things even if you look crazy or stupid! You’re also willing to serve and shine the spotlight on others letting them take control amd you being there!!

To GO first and GO last makes me think of “it starts with you, but it’s not about you.” I think we can apply this as leaders by planning/starting off an event but allowing others to go before us. After all, it is for them rather than ourselves. “Whoever wants to become the first among you must serve all of you like a slave.” (Mark‬ â€10:44‬)

I relate this quote to like an activity of some sort. If no one is participating in the activity you have to be willing to be first in order to get others involved. But at the same time you also need to understand when people are interested therefore stepping back and serving them. Making sure they are having a good time before yourself.
